In an email from Ottawa County, sent November 3, 2021:
“We respect the rights of parents to choose what medical measures are right for their child,” said Lisa Stefanovsky, Health Officer.
Apparently the rights of parents don’t extend to ALL medical measures… only the ones the Health Officer has determined are currently allowed.
This echos the sentiment of one Ottawa County Commissioner, when he said in August 2021:
“Sometimes the government needs to make your decisions for you. And that’s what we are doing.”
Between October 2020 and September 2021, Ottawa County reported on average fewer than one (1) COVID-19 hospitalization per month in people under 18 years of age.
